Protecting New Life Amid Hardship – South Sudan
Description
At Gsgi-Family, we are deeply moved by the stories of care, strength, and hope that emerge from regions facing extreme challenges. One such story comes from Aweil State Hospital in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan, where Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) runs a maternity unit to ensure mothers and newborns receive the medical attention they so desperately need.
In this touching moment, MSF nurse Regina Abuk Thor gently cradles Aloor Ngong Makaak, a newborn baby just 13 days old, in her arms. It’s a beautiful image of dedication and compassion in a place where healthcare resources are scarce and maternal and infant health face daily threats.
This scene, shared by media.msf.org, is more than just a photograph—it’s a symbol of resilience and the profound impact that skilled and compassionate healthcare workers can make, even in the most fragile environments.
As Gsgi-Family, we support and promote causes that bring light and care to communities in crisis. We stand in admiration of the incredible work done by MSF and other humanitarian organizations, and we are committed to helping amplify these efforts and make a real difference wherever it’s needed most.
